These vocabulary lists can be used as lesson worksheets or tests. The top segment provides a word and a definition. The bottom segment provides the same words, but different definitions and requires the student to match the word to the definition.

The purpose of this exercise is to require the student to think and reason, as well as highlighting the fact that all words can be defined or described in different ways.

Teaching Tip! Use these vocabulary worksheets as an integrated part of your lesson plan. Combine other lessons in math, science, or history along with learning vocabulary in order to demonstrate how one discipline overlaps another. Be sure to create integrated lessons at the appropriate age level, but do always provide one part of the lesson that stretches the imagination or intelligence level of the student.
