Step 1.

There are four lessons that are available with this set of Halloween-themed worksheets:

  • Halloween Vocabulary
  • Halloween Writing
  • Halloween Math
  • Halloween Equations

The worksheets are "simple" enough to use for several different age groups, depending on how you choose to orient your own lesson plans.

The worksheet shown to the left has 6 vocabulary words, matched to a picture on the top half of the worksheet. The bottom half of the worksheet requires students to write in a word or draw a picture, depending on "What is missing" from the worksheet. This provides an opportunity for students to learn vocabulary words in a lesson that is enhanced by the opportunity to draw.

Step 2.

The second worksheet is a writing skill that allows students to "fill in the blanks" to finish a simply story that uses the vocabulary words introduced in the first worksheet.

The story is written in such a way that each student will likely tell his or her own story, and have a different "solution" to the Halloween mystery of "What is missing."

There are no right or wrong answers here, so let the students have some fun with this one!

As another way to use this story, ask the students for 6 "things" (nouns) that have to do with Halloween and let them come up with their own answers. Write down the six things in order, and then read the story using the first noun in the first blank, and so on. This usually ends up in quite a hilarious story, and the students will want to "play" this word game again and again.

Step 3.

Math is usually one of the harder subjects to teach (and learn), so this Halloween Math worksheet should make learning numbers a little easier.

Each number is represented by a different Halloween image. There are a corresponding number of images in the left column for the number shown in the right column. The number is shown as a numeral as well as the spelled word. The "thing" is also shown in its correct plural spelling (with the exception of "witch").

The bottom half of the worksheet requires students to fill in "What is missing" by drawing the correct number of images or writing in the correct number and spelling it.

Step 4.

The final worksheet includes some simple math addition equations. The equation is shown in the left column and the right column shows the equation in numbers.

The bottom half of the worksheet requires students to fill in "What is missing" from the worksheet.
