Step 2.

You will need:

  • Mom's Break Halloween Printable Witch Hat Card
  • Black construction paper
  • Orange curl ribbon (or another color of your choice)
  • scissors
  • glue
  • hole punch
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 3.
Cut out each part of the card: the "Front" (the black Witch Hat) and the Inside (the blank white outline of the Witch Hat).
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 4.

Now you have both pieces of the card.

At this point, you can skip to Step 8 if you do not wish to add the black construction

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 5.
To create the black construction backing for the card, you will use the Inside of the card.
As you can see in the picture to the left, turn over the Inside so that the tip of the Witch Hat points to the right.
Rub the glue stick on this side of the Inside.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 6.

Glue side down, glue the Inside of the card to the black construction paper.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 7.
Now, cut out around the Inside, leaving about a 1/4" border of black construction paper showing around the edge of the Inside of the card.
Refer to the picture, shown at left, to see the border of black construction paper that shows all around the edge of the Inside of the card.
At this point, you can decorate the inside of the card or write in a Halloween greeting.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 8.

Place the Front of the card (the black Witch Hat) on top of the Inside.

Line up the edges of the Front with the edges of the Inside (that is, the black hat over the all-white hat).

Hold both pieces together and punch the holes (shown as white circles on the Front of the card) with a hole punch.

If you do not have a hole punch, then use scissors to create the two holes. You might want to do this if you are doing this craft with younger children.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 9.
Cut two short lengths of curl ribbon (about 10-12" each). Push one end of the curl ribbon through one of the holes, tie, and then curl the ends using the flat blade of the scissors. You can also use yarn or string, if preferred.
Repeat for the other hole in the card.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 10.

The Witch Hat card is now complete!
