Step 1. There are always new ways to use free printables! Take these CD/DVD case labels, for example, available from Moms Break Free Printables. These are the perfect size to use as "labels" for resealable plastic bags---just perfect for make snack bags for your College Kid! Now, you know that your College Kid is going to be keeping odd hours, up all night, sleeping until noon, racing to get to a 1:00 class. Eating regular meals is something that kid is only going to do when he or she comes home for a long weekend, holiday, or in between semesters. Step 2. Of course, you can make your own "snack bag labels" by downloading the printable from Moms Break, and personalizing in Adobe Reader (more about that a little later). Or, you can download this ready-made label printable! First, you will need to print blank labels. Print as many pages as you like. Get the label from Moms Break at: Set these aside. Now, download the text for the labels, as illustrated to the left: It is OK that only the text appears. See Step 3 for printing the text on the labels. |

Step 3. To make the printed labels, as illustrated to the left:
*You may need to consult the manual for your printer in order to put the "Studying Hard" printed pages into the printer so that the text will print properly (as shown to the left). Now, trim the labels. Put snack items such as breakfast bars, granola bars, individually wrapper toaster pastries, and other snacks such as dried fruit or trail mix (which some of us call GORP [good old raisins and peanuts). You can also make snack bags of individually wrapped hard candies, candy bars, wrapped packages of snack crackers, or lunch-box-sized bags of cookies. Insert the printed label, so that the text shows. |

Your College Kid would probably appreciate homemade cookies! Wrap the cookies in plastic wrap before putting into the snack back so that the cookies don't "bleed" onto the printed labels! |
