Get ready to make a fun, colorful, and kind of wacky Easter table decoration!

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For this Easter table decoration, you'll need the following:
  • Block or half-circle of craft foam
  • Easter bunting (a substitute for Easter grass, it is like spun cotton that you can pull apart and shape somewhat)
  • Plastic Easter Eggs (or Plastic Jelly Beans)
  • Floral wire stems (or pipe-cleaners)
  • Wire cutters
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 1.

The plastic Easter eggs will need to be prepared prior to doing this project. A small hole will need to be drilled in the top and bottom of the egg (see left). This is fairly easy and was done with a battery-operated handheld drill and a 1/4" drill bit.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 2.
Create Easter Egg stems by inserting the floral wire (or pipe-cleaners) through both holes in the Easter egg.
You can thread as many as you like on one stem, and bend the stems in crazy directions.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 3.

To hold the first egg on the wire firmly at the top, bend the end of the wire over about 1/2".

Continue to make as many Easter Egg stems as you desire. The bigger the block of stryofoam, the more stems you'll want. Be sure to make stems that have 1, 2, 3, and 4 eggs---or whatever you want so that you have a variety of stems.

Mix up the colors, or put all of one color on a stem. Who cares? Just let yourself be crazy!

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 4.
When you've made all the stems, use the wire cutters to snip off the ends so that you have about 2" to use to stick into the stryofoam.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 5. 06

Begin to insert the stems into the craft foam. Spread out the stems, and insert at different angles.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 6.
Once the stems have been inserted, wad small bunches of Easter bunting around the base and in between the stems.
If you are using actual Easter grass, you may want to wrap the craft foam block in a piece of paper. After inserting the stems, run a glue stick around the paper and stick enough Easter grass onto the paper to completely cover. Then simply lay more Easter grass over it once you've put the decoration on the table.
It's colorful, it's wacky---and kids of all ages will have fun making it!
This completes the Easter Table Decoration tutorial.
