Make A Christmas Stocking Gift Bag

Using Mom's Break exclusive Christmas stocking free printables, you can make a cute stocking gift bag---just right to put a little treat in for kids who are attending a Christmas party, for your child to give as presents to everyone in his or her class, or for very special gift for Grandma!

To help you with this craft, I've provided free, illustrated instructions:

http://readingroom.janktheproofer.com/makembstocking.htm

The instructions contain several pictures, so it might take a few (long) seconds to open.

You'll need:

  • Mom's Break Christmas stocking free printable (see the end of this article for the link to Mom's Break)

  • Colored construction paper

  • pencil, glue stick (I like Elmer's---goes on purple, dries clear!)

  • kid-friendly scissors

  • small gift item (peppermint stick shown in the illustrations)

Once you have downloaded the Mom's Break Christmas stockings, choose your child's initial, the first initial of everyone in your child's class...or G for Grandma! Cut out the Christmas stocking.

Trace around the Christmas stocking on the construction paper. Trim the construction paper. This will make the back of the gift bag.

Run the glue stick around the edges of the construction paper Christmas stocking---but do not put glue on the very top of the stocking.

When you put on the glue be sure to glue the side of the construction paper that will match to the back of the printed stocking (as shown in the illustrations).

Put a small gift inside, but don't put anything very big, bulky, or heavy in it. This Christmas stocking gift bag it is perfect for a few cellophane-wrapped candy canes, which makes a perfect gift for your child's schoolmates, or to give away at a children's Christmas party.

And by the way...Grandma will like this, too---especially when "I made it just for you, Grandma" by a treasured grandchild. Put a wallet-sized photo of this year's school  picture inside! That makes a gift Grandma will treasure all year-round!
