If you are hurrying
around, trying to find a gift for Uncle Jake or Shawn the guy who always
puts the toner in the copier at work, then here are a few ideas for you
that are quick, easy, and inexpensive! You can find things at a "dollar" store, Walgreen's, an auto parts store, or any discount department store like Wal-Mart or Target. Shown here are rubber-tipped clamps (a dollar store find), an air freshener for a car, or a handy fold-up lint remover (like this one I found at Walgreen's, great for a guy who travels or has to keep a suit coat handy at the office for meetings with the big shots). You'll need a couple of sheets of tissue paper, a gift bag, some curl ribbon, and a gift tag to complete the gift. The whole thing can cost less than just a few dollars---but it will be a gift that will be appreciated! (I always add some chocolate candy!) |

By using tissue paper and
a gift bag, you really don't have to "wrap" the gift. Fold the gift item
in one or two sheets of tissue paper: put the gift item in the middle of
the sheet of tissue paper, and then fold the sides of the tissue paper
up and around the gift. Insert the tissue paper, gift end down, into the bag. The points of the tissue paper will stick out of the top of the gift bag. |

This gift bag didn't have any handles, so I folded the sides together (like a paper lunch bag) and punched holes in the sides. I "laced" curl ribbon through the holes and around to the front. |

Punch a hole in the gift
card, and thread it onto the curl ribbon. Then tie the ends of the curl
ribbon. (Be sure to fill out the "To" and "From" on the gift card before
you tie it onto the bag! You can make your own gift tags, like the one you see here, by using blank business cards. For the instructions and free Christmas Gift Tag templates, go to: |

Are you really stumped about what to get the nice lady across the street? Why not give her a gift that will come back to you as a plate of homemade oatmeal cookies? |
