Download these templates and personalize your baby shower invitations! These free printable baby shower invitations are themed to match the rest of the Baby Shower Planning Package that is offered by Jan's Reading Room, in cooperation with Mom's Break Baby Shower.

These Baby Shower Invitation and Label Templates are in a zip folder: Make-A-Shower-Invitation. The free printable baby shower invitation is a PDF file and opens with Adobe Reader. The Label Templates are Word documents.

If you are not familiar with PDF files, review my easy-to-understand tutorials:

Get everything you need to create this quarter-fold invitation: the inside card invitation information, the mailing and return address labels, and a blank printable "envelope" that is suitable for mailing these quarter-fold cards.

For this entire collection, download the zip file: Make-A-Shower-Invitation

To print this entire collection, you will need:

  • plain computer paper (or card stock for the cards)

  • Blank shipping labels* (Avery template 8163)

  • Blank address labels* (Avery template 8160 or 8460)

*Purchase these at any office supplies store like Office Depot or other stores like Target or Wal-Mart. I usually buy the store brand, and just look for the "Avery template" number on the package.

Step 1.

Open the Word Document named "Make-A-Shower-Invitation.doc." This template is prepared to print on Avery template #8361 2 x 4" shipping labels (which come as 10 labels on one sheet, usually sold in packages of 25 sheets for about $8 dollars).

You will use this to create your personalized Baby Shower party information for the inside of the card.

Step 2.

Position the cursor (the "blinking line") after the colon for each line and fill in the details for your baby shower. Fill in the entire first section.

If you want to change one of the detail lines, just delete what is there and type in what you prefer. However, be sure that you do not add more lines than will print inside the single 2 x 4 label section.

Step 3.

"Block copy" that whole section. Click the cursor in front of "Baby" on the first line. Hold down the Shift key (with one finger, I usually hold it down with my left pinky). Click the cursor after the last number of your telephone number on the RSVP line (or whatever information you've filled in there). That entire section will now be blacked-out (this is called "block copying").

Step 4.

On the toolbar, click on Edit, then click on Copy.

Step 5.

Now, you are going to "paste" that same information into the next section (that way you don't have to type it in over and over again!).

Click the click in front of Baby. Then hold down the Shift key, and click the cursor behind the colon after RSVP. This will black out that section.

Step 6.

Click on Edit on the toolbar, then click on Paste.

Step 7.

The information you typed into the first section has now been copied into the second section.

Continue to paste the information into all 10 sections of the blank page (there are 10 blank labels to a sheet of Avery template # 8163 shipping labels).

You only have to "copy" the information once (as you did in Step #4), and you can "paste" it into all of the other 9 blank sections (as you did in Step #6).

If you are inviting more than 10 people, then simply print more sheets of Avery template #8361 shipping labels.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! You have learned a really neat new "trick" for using labels to do something other than print addresses and mail packages!!!
Step 8.

Now open the "Mailing-Labels" Word document.

This template is prepared to print on Avery template #8160/8460 1 x 2-5/8" address labels (which come as 30 labels on one sheet, usually sold in packages of 25 sheets for about $8 dollars).

You will use this to create your personalized mailing and return address labels for mailing the invitations.

Follow Steps 2 to 7 to create your own return address labels (since all you need to do is type it in once and then copy/paste it as many times as you need it.

For the mailing labels for your guests, you'll need to hand-type in each address, into the blank mailing label sections.

Step 8.

Open the PDF file of the quarter-fold card, and print as many as you need.

If you are unfamiliar with quarter-fold cards, check this quick tutorial:

Quarter-Fold Cards: What They Are and How to Fold Them

Once you have your cards, you are ready to "personalize" them using the labels that you created in Steps 2-7.

Step 9.

Peel off a large label, and put it on the inside right of the quarter-fold card.

You may want to sign each card, or add a personal note.

Step 10.

Print as many of the blank envelopes as you need, fold, and glue them together.

For an easy-to-follow tutorial, go to:

Envelopes for Quarter-Fold Cards: How to Fold Them

Insert the card, fold over the flap, and glue it shut.

Step 11.

On the front of the envelope, stick on the mailing and return address labels (created in Step 8), and add first class postage.

This completes the tutorial for the Make a Baby Shower Invitation free printable baby shower invitations offered by Jan's Reading Room.
